“The Last Great Race on Earth”*
This March the Iditarod, a dog musher’s race from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska, celebrates its 50th year as an annual event. It’s a grueling challenge that raises the bar for mettle-testing to mind-numbing heights. To date the fastest recorded time is a stunning 8 days, three hours, 40 minutes, and 13 seconds, set by Mitch Seavey in 2017.
